The Junior Economic Club of Chicago is an entirely student-led non-profit that provides determined, aspiring high school students exposure to the real business world. As an organization, we firmly believe that given the right guidance and support, high school students are capable of addressing economic issues facing our society. The Club provides the necessary resources to empower tomorrow’s leaders to make an impact in their communities.
The current education system does not adequately prepare students for the growing complexity of the economy or the changing business world. By starting preparation early, the Junior Economic Club is guaranteeing Chicago's continuing prosperity for generations to come.
The Junior Economic Club has a three faceted approach to achieving it's mission and most effectively engaging and enriching the future's of club members. At the heart of the club are:
Our quarterly events bring together JECC members with leading figures of Chicago's business world. Each gala event features distinct keynotes speakers in fields of entrepreneurship, business, finance and more. Each event contains a networking session in which members have the chance to meet and connect with students from all around the city.
Member Engagement Program
The JECC gives members exclusive access to summer program, internships, and more! Our quarterly events bring together club members with leading figures of Chicago's business world. Another component of the engagement program - The Junior Economist, our quarterly publication written by students for students, discussing contemporary economic issues.
We believe that an essential component of leadership is community outreach. The club's community initiatives are service learning projects aimed to give back to communities all around Chicago. The first community oriented program the JECC has developed is the High Returns initiative, centered around fostering financial literacy education at an early age.
